Canyoning is a sporting activity that consists of descending streams within rocky channels. The descent is done on foot and, in some cases, ropes are employed to descend into the vertical sections of the channels. The Forra di Prodo is located about 20 km from Orvieto. It has a medium difficulty, also suitable for beginners, and imposes a single condition: knowing how to swim. The wetsuit used is more than enough, alone, to float you, but in any case, on request, we will provide you with a life jacket.
The route starts under the walls of Prodo castle. From here you will have the opportunity to dive into pools of crystal clear water, to swim between narrow walls carved out by the stream and to slide into fun toboggans. This gorge begins immediately with a nice little dive and continues non-stop for about 750 meters. Recommended clothing: sneakers to wet and swimsuit. We propose this gorge from April to June. In the event of excessive increases in the water level, in order to protect your safety, we reserve the right to postpone the exit to a date different from that one scheduled.
